Any calculator on this site — including the earnings and tax calculator — is an estimate produced by arithmetic, nothing more. It is not financial advice, not tax advice, not accounting advice and not career advice. No accountant, tax agent or adviser has looked at your situation, because nobody here knows anything about it.
It ignores your individual circumstances. It takes no account of deductions, work expenses, tax offsets and rebates, salary sacrifice or packaging, zone and remote-area rebates, LAFHA, fringe benefits, private health insurance rebate or the Medicare levy surcharge, dependants, a spouse's income, other income, capital gains, prior-year losses, part-year employment, the low-income Medicare reduction, or anything else that makes a real tax return different from a sum.
It ignores your real pay too. Employers structure FIFO pay in ways a calculator cannot see: overtime and penalty rates, bonuses, camp and travel allowances, casual loading, unpaid travel days, whether your roster is really the roster advertised, and what the contract says. Treat the output as a rough comparison between two offers, not as a forecast of your bank balance.

What we do not do: we do not record your keystrokes or your mouse movements, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell or share this with anybody. Activity records are deleted after 180 days. The Privacy policy sets out the detail.
